An 18th Century silver and agate snuff box.
Circa 1780, not marked. Height 2.75" (4.5cm).
The agate lid and base is slightly domed, with a contemporary name of "William Gow" on the side and also has its orginal gilding on the inside. The bottom piece of agate has a hair line crack across the centre and is hardle visible there is also a tiny crack on the lid of about 0.25" (5mm) long.
